Code of Conduct

The Web Professional Institute (WPI) sets uniform worldwide standards for the continued education and certification of web professionals, as based on scientific methods and in cooperation with experts in the online industry. We offer top-quality services which provide assurance for and guide not just our students, but employers as well.

Our clients value us because we set the highest standards possible for the services we provide. The appreciation they show is essential to us, since our clients’ trust is our most valuable asset.

The following Code of Conduct serves to present the values we represent and how we put them into practice in order to gain and maintain the trust of our clients and others associated with the WPI.

To Whom does this Code of Conduct Apply?

This Code of Conduct applies to any individual who works at the WPI, collaborates with the WPI or uses the WPI's services as a client. Any individual who belongs to one of the aforementioned groups must be familiar with this Code and act accordingly.

Policy Regarding Retaliation

We prohibit retaliation against anyone reporting a breach of the Code of Conduct. Should you be the victim of such retaliation, please report it to us.

What are the Consequences for an Individual Who doesn’t Follow the Code?

Any individual who does not comply with the Code will be subject to disciplinary action, with the appropriate action to be determined on a case-by-case basis. Serious breaches of the Code of Conduct may result in a suspension of services, revocation of certification and/or termination of the relationship.

I. Integrity and Consistency

Our actions and communications are guided by the ideals, beliefs and values that are important to us. We do not permit ourselves to be influenced by outside parties or enticements of any kind. We do not tolerate corruption in any form. Everything we do is in accordance with our best knowledge and the values we hold.

II. Respectful, Open Interaction

Everyone at the WPI, whether employee, partner or client, shall interact with one another with respect, and in a spirit of partnership and mutual support.

We at the WPI shall act with kindness toward one another, and shall not defame the character of anyone else, whether employee, partner or client. In particular, the WPI does not tolerate insults, abuse, or threats of any nature.

The WPI shall communicate subject matter and ideas as clearly as possible, always keeping in mind that language barriers and/or cultural barriers can greatly impact the success of a communication, and can even mean its failure.

In cases where problems or disagreements do arise, we shall address them openly and make our best efforts to find constructive solutions together.

III. Equal, Fair Treatment

WPI places great importance on equal treatment and equal opportunities. We prohibit discrimination and harassment in any form. In WPI’s eyes, every person is equal, regardless of gender, age, nationality, skin color, sexual orientation, religion or any other characteristic.

IV. Data Protection and Confidentiality

We handle all data and information entrusted to us with care. This applies both to personal data and to intellectual property and trade secrets. In particular, we treat learning material, the content of audits and audit results with special care.

V. Professional Activities

We take a responsible approach to what we do as a profession. We always give our best and strive to maintain the highest possible standards. We’re completely upfront about our abilities and are very clear about what we can (and what we can’t) do. If we have little or no expertise in some field, we’ll look to an expert to advise us and/or take on the related tasks on our behalf.

VI. Lifelong Learning

We maintain and are constantly expanding the competencies we need to do what we do. As a result, our know-how is always in line with the current state of knowledge, and we have the ability to perform our professional activities in the best possible way.

VII. Lawfulness and Reliability

We observe all laws as well as all contractual regulations which apply to the WPI. We place great importance on the credibility and quality of our certification. We strictly prohibit any form of fraud in taking exams and in granting certification.
